HOW DOES THE KWIKtest UTI TEST WORK?
It works by first applying the KWIKtest Gel-Free Liner to the inside of the incontinence pad or diaper. This liner has a soft surface, making it comfortable to wear. Testing can be performed and results obtained immediately after urination and up to 4 hours* after urination allowing no interruption to incontinence pad/diaper changing routines. Simply press the colored pads on the KWIKtest Stick onto the wet area of the KWIKtest Gel-Free Liner for just a few seconds to allow colored pads to adequately absorb the urine. After adequate absorption, compare the colored pads on the KWIKtest Stick to the color chart on the ziplock Stick bag for easy interpretation. This makes it easy to see if you have an infection, even if there are only small amounts of bacteria present.
KWIKtest UTI Test is up to 90% faster than traditional methods
- Placing, testing and reading takes a maximum of two (2) minutes. Using traditional methods, including separate urine collection and analysis, takes on average 16.8 minutes. This means that the KWIKtest Press & Read UTI Test is 90% faster, on average, compared to procedures that involve urine collection with dipstick, specimen cup or catheterization.

WHAT ARE THE LIMITS OF THE KWIKtest UTI TEST?
The KWIKtest UTI Test is a screening device only and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment. Under certain conditions, you may get a negative result even though the resident has a UTI: If the infection is caused by bacteria that does not change nitrate to nitrite, if the urine has not been held in the bladder long enough, you will get a negative nitrite result. If there are only a small number of white blood cells (leukocytes) in the urine, you may get a negative leukocyte result.
